We extend a warm invitation for you to join us on a captivating field trip in the Borowy Jar area of Jelenia Góra, led by an expert geomorphologist!
Theme: Relief processes featuring the impact of the Pleistocene ice sheet and the role of flowing water. Explore the consequences of climate cooling and warming on the terrain's morphology. Participants will gain insights into interpreting shaded relief maps, reading geological maps, and discovering the capabilities of the Geoportal Mobile application. Our guide for the day will be a geomorphologist from the University of Wroclaw - Marek Kasprzak, PhD.
The excursion will commence with a rendezvous at Jelenia Gora's two largest rivers, offering a unique perspective of the city from an elevated vantage point. Subsequently, our journey will delve into unravelling the origins of the Bóbr River Gorge, exploring what has captivated the residents of Jelenia Góra on the slopes of Siodlo Mountain. Come rain or shine, we will embark on this hike, only reconsidering in the event of a calamity. We recommend dressing in off-road attire, including footwear that doesn't shy away from a bit of dirt. If rain is anticipated, bringing an umbrella is advisable. Be sure to pack a lunch and drink to keep you energized throughout the excursion. Additionally, having a cell phone or tablet with internet access will prove helpful.
